Please Register for the Central Region Conference!

Dear friends and members of NAPABA-MN,

I am writing you to ask you for your support.

We need you to register for the 2008 NAPABA Central Region Conference.

If you have already registered, we thank you. To those who forgot or are still considering, we remind you how important this Conference is to both NAPABA-MN and Asian American/Pacific American attorneys of Minnesota.

The Conference will be a fantastic opportunity for Asian American and Pacific American attorneys in Minnesota to show everyone from the region and to the national board, that we have grown as a local affiliate and that we are reaching for higher goals. As we have stated numerous times, we must have a successful Central Region Conference in order to get the national board to truly consider holding the NAPABA National Convention in Minnesota.

The Annual Gala has been and will be the best way to renew your NAPABA-MN membership. As in the past, the Annual Gala is the highlight event of the year for NAPABA-MN. We are fortunate to be able to hold our Annual Gala this year in conjunction with the Central Region Conference.

We have also secured a lower rate at the Hilton. The new rate is now $135 per night, if reserved on or before May 28, 2008. We ask that even if you are in Minnesota, the best (and perhaps the safest) way to enjoy the events of Friday night’s cocktail hour and/or Saturday night’s evening Gala may be to spend a night or two at the Hilton. NAPABA-MN had to secure a block of rooms at the Hilton for the Conference and NAPABA-MN will be responsible for a certain amount of minimum rooms being reserved. So we ask that you reserve at least one night at the Hilton at this great rate.

For example, for a private sector attorney from Minnesota, your conference fee ($165) plus one night at Hilton ($135) comes to a total of about $300. We believe this is a great deal. The $300 includes cocktail receptions, all access to the Saturday CLEs, a ticket to the Annual Gala, and NAPABA-MN and NAPABA membership dues for one year.

The Conference fees are:
• $165 conference fee for private sector attorneys• $125 conference fee for public sector attorneys, retired attorney and solo practitioners• $95 conference fee for law students and recent graduates not yet admitted to practice law• $30/$50 for guests to attend the lunch ($30) or the dinner ($50) (or both for $70)

We are also continuously seeking law firms and companies to sponsor the Conference. We ask that you contact the decision makers of your firm and/or company and ask be a sponsor.
